As a woman therapist working primarily with women, I
attempt to do what the author Marilyn French chides literature for not
doing.
“The
problem with the great literature of the past is that it doesn’t tell
you how to live with real endings...you don’t live happily ever after,
but you do live. And that’s the problem.”
I aim to help women find a way to live with life’s
real endings and to grow—because of them or in spite of them.
I believe that deep inside each of us there is a
desire to grow, and to be healthy and happy. I also believe that each of
us has the freedom and can find the strength to change ourselves and our
lives for the better.
