I was born and grew up in the mid-western
United States, where I began my undergraduate study in classical
music performance. I lived subsequently in New York state and in
California before coming to the Pacific Northwest in 1980. I lived
and practiced my profession in Seattle till June, 2000.
When I moved to the Puget Sound area it was
like a homecoming for me! I found the beauty of the inland sea,
the mountains and forests simply magical. That magic has never worn
off, and there’s no place I can imagine that I’d rather live.
For the past five years my partner and I have lived on the very
edge of the Suquamish
forest (Port Madison Reservation) near
Poulsbo, Washington on the beautiful Kitsap Peninsula. Our home is
only a half-hour ferry ride from the things I love best in
Seattle, but it’s a world apart in its rural pace and
tranquility.
I enjoy my home and gardens, and my cat, Maggie. Other special interests are
classical and
jazz vocal performance, the women’s community, personal and political
issues affecting women, being a listener and supporter of
classical music, and woman-honoring, nature-based spiritual practice. I’m
especially pleased to have a young-adult daughter who is fun to be
with, and who remains very affectionately attached to her mom.
