Since you are visiting a psychotherapy website, perhaps
you have some questions or concerns about your mental health or emotional
well-being. Nobody knows better than you do how you feel, and whether or
not what you’re feeling is “normal” for you.
But sometimes it’s useful to be able to compare
yourself to an objective measure of what’s usual for most people. You
may find yourself surprised to learn, for example, that most people
don’t feel as tired and discouraged as you’re used to feeling.
The links below will take you to several “self-tests”
which may help you to sort out your feelings and understand what they
mean. Having good information is a first step to making good decisions for
yourself. Now, please be patient with a word of caution: these
self-assessment tools may point you in the right direction, but they are
far from a precise road map.
The general measures that these self-tests provide can’t
possibly take into account all the unique features of your own life and
personal make-up. Therefore, you will want to consult your physician or a
mental health professional if you think you’ve found any indication of
serious problems.
